On July 1st, 2010, British Columbia and Ontario implemented the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). The change means that in BC, you can now claim back all 12% of your qualifying business expenses as an imput tax credit. Prior to the HST, you could claim back the 5% GST, however the 7% BC PST had to be absorbed into the cost of the goods.
